Do you need help with your allergies? Are you sniffly, stuffy, itchy or experiencing something more severe? If so, Vanguard Medical Group offers an array of options with treatment from a professional allergist. From food allergies to environmental irritants, we’re able to help eliminate your symptoms so you can enjoy a better quality of life.

The Allergies We Treat

Allergies come from multiple sources, and their symptoms can range in intensity from minor to severe or even life-threatening. Our experienced allergist can help address any of the following allergies:

  • Food
  • Gastrointestinal
  • Seasonal and year-round
  • Skin conditions
  • Bee stings
  • Medications
  • Dust
  • Dander
  • Pollen
  • Mold

To pinpoint your allergies, allergy testing may be completed. Our allergist is trained to administer and analyze these tests to determine proper action moving forward. Through a combination of skin and blood tests, your doctor can determine which allergens are triggering symptoms. Once these allergens are better understood, steps can be taken to reduce symptoms and achieve better well-being.

Allergy Treatment

After testing has been completed, your allergist will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan. In general, this will include preventative measures, such as avoiding problematic foods and environmental factors that provoke symptoms. Some individuals may find relief without more aggressive treatment, but your doctor may also recommend:

  • Immunotherapy: Also known as allergy shots, immunotherapy can help decrease sensitivity to allergens and provide lasting relief, even after treatment has stopped.
  • Over-the-counter or prescription medications: These drugs can help reduce symptoms when taken during times of high sensitivity or year-round.
  • Allergy-induced asthma treatment: Asthma can take a toll on your daily life, making it difficult to breathe when exercising or exposed to allergens. Your allergist may suggest quick-relief medications and/or long-term control options to help relieve asthmatic symptoms.

During treatment, your allergist will be with you every step of the way to help restore quality of life and help you live without the discomfort and limitations caused by allergic reactions.
