VERONA, NJ — October 29, 2015 — Vanguard Medical Group is one of five winners of the 2015 American Medical Association’s and the Medical Group Management Association’s Practice Innovation Challenge. The AMA & MGMA Practice Challenge is part of the AMA’s STEPS Forward series that strives for processes that will help physicians improve their medical practices allowing them to work smarter and improve patient care. The winners were announced at the 2015 MGMA Annual Meeting held on October 12, 2015.

“Vanguard Medical Group’s patient-centered primary care philosophy continues to evolve to serve patients by offering the finest medical services that meets individual’s needs while controlling the cost of healthcare services,” said Robert Eidus, M.D.and president of Vanguard Medical Group. “Being selected with the four other winners chosen for this award out of all of the medical practices throughout the country that competed is an honor and acknowledgement that Vanguard Medical Group is right on course.”

Vanguard Medical Group’s AMA & MGMA Practice Challenge, which was initiated and implemented by Janet Duni, RN, BSN, CCM, MPA, Director of Care Coordination at VMG, addressed ways to standardize and improve the professional development of their medical assistants. “On-site, six month, free education modules for our MA staff are vital to ensure that everyone is cross-trained in a variety of functions so that they are prepared for their multiple roles. We are proud and pleased with the acknowledgement that our approach is leaner, more standardized and scalable from our previous one, and that it will now be used to help other medical practices,” added Eidus.
