Dr. Adrienne Salerno Named Medical Director for Vanguard’s Hawthorne Office
Hawthorne, NJ – May 15, 2025 – Vanguard Medical Group has named Dr. Adrienne Salerno as the new medical director of its Hawthorne office, recognizing her decade of dedication, expertise, and leadership within the organization. A provider at Vanguard for 10 years, Dr. Salerno is also beginning her second term on the board of directors, reinforcing her commitment to both patient care and the growth of the medical group.
Dr. Salerno has played a key role in advancing healthcare initiatives at Vanguard, serving on multiple committees, including the Women’s Health Committee, Stewardship and Accountability, and Diabetic Nutrition, an area of particular interest. She is also an active member of the Vaccine Committee. Notably, she spearheaded an initiative on team-based care, attending a national conference in Green Bay to expand her expertise. Additionally, she has been instrumental in optimizing patient care at the Hawthorne office by ensuring efficient high-quality service.
In her new role, Dr. Salerno is focused on fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. “I feel that we take care of each other, as well as take care of our patients,” she said.

Dr. Salerno earned her undergraduate degree in Biology, graduating cum laude from the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Salerno completed her residency in Family Medicine at Mountainside/UHMC Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey, where she served as Chief Resident.
