Dr. Stephanie Smith Named Medical Director for Vanguard’s Riverdale Office
RIVERDALE, N.J. – January 6, 2026 – Vanguard Medical Group has appointed Dr. Stephanie Smith as medical director of its Riverdale office, effective Jan. 1, 2026, recognizing her longstanding clinical leadership, strategic insight, and deep commitment to advancing value-based, patient-centered care.
Dr. Smith has held several key leadership roles at Vanguard Medical Group during her 12 years at the practice. She previously served as chair of the Emergency Preparedness Committee. Currently, she is a member of Vanguard’s board of directors and is a shareholder in the practice. A board-certified family medicine physician, Dr. Smith continues to care for patients—and is currently accepting new patients at the Riverdale location.
In her new role, Dr. Smith will oversee clinical operations at the Riverdale office, working closely with practice leadership to ensure alignment with Vanguard’s mission, goals, and values. She will focus on strengthening clinical excellence and supporting the delivery of high-quality, value-based, patient-centered care.
“As medical director, my goal is to support the organization’s vision while building a cohesive, team-driven environment at the Riverdale office,” said Dr. Smith. “By working collaboratively, we can deliver exceptional care that is both sustainable for our teams and meaningful for our patients.”
The Riverdale office, which relocated from Lincoln Park in March 2024, is one of Vanguard’s newer locations and represents an important area of growth for the practice.
“The Riverdale office is already a strong location for Vanguard, and I see tremendous opportunity for continued growth in the coming years,” Dr. Smith said. “My focus is on helping the office grow thoughtfully and ensuring the team works together seamlessly as we serve our patients and the community.”
