Behavioral Health

Mental health services help support overall good health.

It's common for medical offices to treat the physical aspects of a patient. At Vanguard Medical Group, we also focus on keeping our patients physically and mentally healthy. We treat the whole person because we know that the connection between physical and emotional health is a strong one. Treating emotional conditions such as depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance abuse is an important part of the care we provide and available when our patients need it.

Studies have shown that individuals with chronic conditions, such as heart disease or diabetes, have a greater risk of developing a mental disorder such as depression. Also, individuals with depression have a greater risk of developing chronic disease. That's why it makes sense to include mental health services under the same roof as general medical services.

Confidential Treatment in a Physician's Office
If you're already a patient at Vanguard, we know your family and medical history. When we get to know you on the Behavioral Health side, we have the unique ability to examine both sides, ask the critical questions, and determine the best course of action.

Our staff has a deep background in nursing and in counseling, and includes a nurse practitioner with a master's degree in psychiatric nursing. We are able to prescribe the medications necessary for the full variety of behavioral conditions.
